Digestion is much more than what happens in your stomach.
Every meal moves through a sequence: choosing what you eat, breaking it down, absorbing the nutrients, getting those nutrients into your cells, and finally eliminating what remains. Each stage depends on the one before it. When one handoff breaks down, the effects can travel far beyond the gut.
That can look like bloating or irregular digestion, but it can also show up as fatigue, nutrient deficiencies, brain fog, changes in mood, or other symptoms that seem unrelated to what you eat.
The important question is not simply, “What is wrong with my gut?”
It is: Where did the digestive process start to break down?
Finding that point changes how you approach the problem. Instead of treating the symptom at the end of the process, you can begin supporting the stage that needs help.
I wrote Digestive Wellness: The Four Stage Relay to walk through that process and provide a practical 7 day framework for improving digestion, absorption, assimilation, and elimination.
